Dr. Matthew Brams – Atascocita Site
Our Atascocita site is led by Dr. Matthew Brams, a board-certified Adult and Child Psychiatrist with over 25 years of clinical and research experience. As Medical Director and Principal of Synapasis Bio, LLC, he has conducted more than 300 clinical trials and played a pivotal role in the FDA approval of over 15 CNS drugs currently on the market. Dr. Brams also serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications, and co-founded Cingulate Therapeutics, where he is Chief Medical Officer. With deep expertise in ADHD, autism, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, he is recognized nationally as one of the leading clinical trialists in central nervous system disorders. His extensive experience in both adult and pediatric psychiatry underscores his commitment to advancing treatment options and improving patient outcomes.
Dr. Maria G. Berdayes – Atascocita Site
Joining the Atascocita team is Dr. Maria G. Berdayes, a board-certified family medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience serving patients in the Kingwood and Atascocita communities. She is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood and Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital, and has been recognized among Houston’s Top Family Practice Doctors by H Texas Magazine and Houstonia Magazine. In addition to providing comprehensive family medicine care, Dr. Berdayes has special expertise in arthritis, spinal stenosis, spondylosis, preventative medicine, and wellness care. She serves as president and medical director of the Millennium IPA and is the founder of multiple accountable care organizations that unite independent physicians across Texas to improve care quality and outcomes. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Berdayes is also a dedicated educator, serving as a clinical instructor for Baylor College of Medicine and a preceptor for UT Health Science Center students. Her leadership, clinical expertise, and passion for patient-centered care make her a vital part of our Atascocita site team.
Dr. Shahram Khalid – Waxahachie Site
Our Waxahachie site is led by Dr. Shahram Khalid, a board-certified neurologist and founder of Neurology Care, which serves patients across Mansfield, Mesquite, and Waxahachie. Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, he brings extensive expertise in diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic neurological conditions, utilizing advanced diagnostics such as EEG, NCS, EMG, and VNG. Dr. Khalid earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical University, completed additional training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, and went on to complete his neurology residency and fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit. As a respected leader in Ellis County, he is dedicated to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care while empowering his patients to take an active role in their long-term health.
